Mechanical Design Engineer – Pressure Vessels

Autoclaves Group is a leading provider in the Design, Development and Manufacture of Autoclave Systems and associated products. They are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their existing team on a permanent contract of employment.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the team and therefore needs to have a substantial amount of experience in this industry sector. You will need to work on your own initiative to produce designs for specific contracts, often being a source of information for the client, offering expert advice on material and sizing enquiries.

Responsibilities

•    The design of all vessels based on PD5500, EN and ASME codes of practice and ensure that designs meet the requirements of the PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) regulations.
•    An ability to produce Pressure vessel calculations to PD5500 is essential, calculations to EN and ASME codes would be a distinct advantage but not essential
•    Design / Project Management of standard and one off projects
•    You will be required to work through all stages from initial client contact through to design, manufacture and testing stages
•    Interact and communicate with other team members and clients to produce cost effective and practical designs using SolidWorks.
•    Working within ISO 9001 quality standards
•    Preparation of design and engineering calculations.
•    Provide on -going support to the project teams
•    Produce manufacturing drawings from SolidWorks models.

Requirements

•    Solid work history in Design Engineering Pressure Vessels and bespoke equipment.
•    Engineering qualification, HNC or above.
•    SolidWorks 3D CAD experience.
•    Good written and verbal communication skills essential.

Remuneration
•    Up to £35,000, subject to experience.
